Bringing you 5 quick tips to keep your house in ease + flow (with kids!!!) in the evening. I’m not one for structure 24/7, I appreciate time when I can just kind of bop around as I please (water my flowers, watch a Netflix show, read a few chapters of a book etc) but I’ve realized after loads of trial and error we MUST HAVE STRUCTURE in our home, in the evening!!! It’s so vital, VITAL I tell you! When we go “off schedule” everyone suffers.
5 Tips for a Calm Home in the Evening
- keep your home clean and uncluttered, especially the counters, do a quick sweep it takes 5 seconds
- light candles or diffuse calming scents
- play relaxing music in the background (we do jazz at dinner then transition to piano music)
- eat dinner early so you can relax early – we like to be in bed by 8pm at the latest to just unwind with a tea
- hot tea, sleep/calm supplements, little snack or Sofia’s fave – fluffy milk (just froth whole milk with a little honey + cinnamon)
It’s such a nice ritual to follow and whenever we get off course it’s easy to hop back into it. xx
Try: creating a routine your family loves and feels grounded in! Start by picking 2 things that you would enjoy doing in the evening then DO those things – tweak and add to it as needed.
