Skin Care Favorites | Winter 2023

I have never really paid much attention to my skin besides the usual – washing my face, moisturizer and sunscreen. To be honest, being a Mom I felt like I had more important things to be doing. It wasn’t until this past year that I’ve had more time to myself (Sofia is 10!) and more time to dedicate to skincare. I started slowly adding new things into my repertoire and skincare became a nightly mediative process that I look forward to. It’s the combination of slowing down, a little self-care, good quality products and piano music that make it exciting!

Face

Here’s what has been working for me (my skin is normal to combo)

AM

1| wash with this

2| dab a little eye cream

3| 5 drops of this vitamin c patted on (this one is a great option if you have normal to oily skin, if you’re dry I would use the Skinceuticals Vitamin C)

4| a few days a week I use this scrub in the shower (tiny bit goes a LONG way!) I’ll rub it on then shave so it sits for at least 3min. It will make your face SO soft! Worth every penny!!!

*I don’t use lotion in the AM or I get too greasy throughout the day – if it’s summertime I will use Neutrogena face sunblock, I find this to be very matte and pairs well underneath makeup

PM

1| use Neutrogena wipes to remove makeup and mascara

2| wash with this cleanser – the little micro beads feel like they really get the grime from the day off!

3| I alternate daily with the M-61 exfoliating wipes and Obagi retinol (*if you’re just starting retinol be prepared that you might peel…A TON! Hang in there, should be better in a few weeks)

4| Eye cream

5| snail essence (this has helped with glow and to lock in moisture)

6| moisturizer with 2 drops of face tanner in medium/dark (I have yet to find another moisturizer better than this one, I’ve continually come back to it!)

7| lip balm – only this one, forever and ever

*once a week I dermaplane my face – there’s really nothing that compares. Baby soft skin. Makeup sits velvety on top.

If I could only choose one product that makes the biggest impact it would 100% be the M-61 wipes. Use them for at least 2 weeks, start with every other day, then stop and you will see why they are worth the hype! When I stopped my skin became SO dull. Using it every other day keeps my skin glowy and bright.

Body

I’ve used AmLactin for yearssss since I have kp on my arms. The smell is kind of medicinal so I always use another lotion or oil with a good scent to mix in. This winter being in Charlotte my skin has been drier than usual – this oil mixed with the AmLactin is gold!

Hands

In the winter my hands tend to crack and bleed. I have tried 92384023784 different creams and this is the only one that has actually worked. It healed the cracks and keeps them away. I use just a little squeeze in the evening after washing my face and a little squeeze after my morning routine.

Nest, Method + Homecourt are the only brands I’ve found so far that don’t break my hands out in a rash.

Hope this helps! xx
