Weekend Edition | Cheer Debut

Sofia had her first competition, more like a pre-competition!? It was a debut with 23 other teams from her gym at a huge arena. They got in their uniforms, hair + makeup done and performed in front of everyone. She was a bit nervous at first, then as the clock ticked down she was SO ready to get out there. It’s safe to say we have a stage crazed daughter. She LOVED being in the spotlight.

Sunday was also dedicated fully to cheer. Oh my gosh. I forgot how demanding competition sports are…and we haven’t even started the travel part of the season! It’s really having me restructure our weekly meal plan. I don’t want to eat out unless we absolutely have to (we usually do Fridays out) and it’s just too time consuming to cook anything after late night practices.

I’ve jotted down in the notes section of my phone a few super quick meals that Sofia will eat:
-nuggets, mac+cheese and French beans
-chicken, mashed potatoes and broccoli
-fried rice (add shrimp to Mike and I’d)
-spaghetti + salad
-tacos
-pizza (grab fresh dough from the bakery)

Drop a comment if you have any recommendations, I’ll add them to my list and share with all 🙂

Here’s what we’re cooking this week!

MONDAY: pizza w/ salad
TUESDAY: tacos, rice + beans
WEDNESDAY: spaghetti + salad
THURSDAY: salmon, rice + broccoli
FRIDAY: out

Hope you have a great week!
